The LADY JAZ Project
Sharing the gift of song to encourage, uplift, inspire and give people hope in these tough times. While at the same time giving you a sound to which you can dance.
Today, LADY JAZ works closely with KEVIN CAIN as her Band Leader. Kevin is a professional musician, studio engineer, and his dedication is to God, and maintaining the "funk" for which The LADY JAZ Project is well-known.
LADY JAZ's songs are popular and well-loved by all who hear. Her music will have you clapping, singing, jumping, and shouting. Her lyrics bring joy and her melodies are heaven-sent.

The LADY JAZ Project's style as "Jazz", others say it's the old school sound of "Funk"...
If you mix the two together, you got The LADY JAZ Project. Their style is unique and definately enjoyable.

BIOGRAPHY
of
The LJP
June 6, 2009, Rick Smith and Lady Jaz met and performed together for the first time in Sacramento, California. Lady Jaz had been accustomed to singing with many musicians, but Rick approached Lady Jaz with a vision. To get together with a group of dedicated musicians and minister in music as a group.
Lady Jaz agreed to pray about it and to consult her Pastor, Everett Robinson, who is her spiritual counselor, and ministerial advisor.
Within the week, Lady Jaz responded to Rick Smith's idea, and embraced the vision.
The LADY JAZ Project started with only Rick Smith on the lead/rhythm guitar, and Willie Martin and Nation Cook on bass guitar.....Gradually, the group grew to include Xavier Watson, and Bobby Jones on keyboard, and Brian Colquitt on drums.
Later, The LJP included background vocalists.
As God continues to perfect The LADYJAZ Project, He has moved and replaced some musicians and singers for the sake of the ministry and according to His excellent plan.
The LADY JAZ Project, is God's workmanship....We have allowed Him to make adujustments and replacements for the progress of the ministry, and for His divine purpose.
Each time He makes a move, it's always for the better...and for His glory....so we don't question Him.
We have learned to accept God's plan and His will.
The LADY JAZ Project is a very popular local gospel group. Known for their unique style of ministering...loved for their soulful "funky" sound of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The LJP now consists of a group of wonderfully talented, beautifully gifted, and highly blessed Christian musicians who are dedicated to the vision and loyal to the ministry.
Musicians who are supportive and prayerful.

Kevin Cain and Lady Jaz work closely together to achieve and maintain that "funky" sound for which The LJP is known.
As Founder and Director of The LJP, Jasmine Bess, or LADY JAZ, as she is more commonly known, has commited her life to the music ministry. She is determined to accomplish and function within her calling and under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Lady Jaz ministers as Lead Vocalist, Songwriter, and safeguards the integrity of the group with God's wisdom, prayer and fasting.
